If your school already has a Student Assistance Program, the TLC Staff person becomes the personal crisis arm and functions as a member of the district team. If you do not
already have such a team, our
Community Counselor becomes your primary resource for student assistance and crisis intervention.
The role of the Community Counselor focuses on furnishing group and individual support to students coping with a wide range of personal crisis issues related to stress management, conflict resolution,
relationship concerns, family dysfunction, sexuality concerns, and aftercare issues.
In addition, CEPS Counselors serve as resource persons to assist administration in the handling of crisis situations involving students. Assigned TLC Community Counselors also maintain current information
about treatment options for substance abuse problems as well as mental health concerns.
