Crisis Response Teams

TLC’s Crisis Response Team will assume whatever responsibilities are deemed appropriate by School Administrators in the management of student crises.

The Crisis Response Team, a service of TLC, is provided to consortium members and can be subscribed to on an annual fee basis as insurance or as a cost per day of actual service. A CRT intervention can be initiated only through an official request directed to our agency by school district administrative personnel. The CRT functions either as the primary coordinator and service agency or as an adjunct to the district’s psychological and guidance staff and SAP team, operating in support of the emergency response action plan that will have been activated.

The Role of The Lincoln Center
Throughout its 25–year history, The Lincoln Center (TLC) has played a crucial role in providing crisis-related assistance to the school districts of Montgomery County. Through its Lincoln Academy and Genesis II alternative school programs, as well as its on-site Community Counselor/SAP Coordinator positions, TLC has offered a wide range of hands-on support services to school districts in addressing the needs of at-risk youth and their families. In addition to providing ongoing assistance through group and individual counseling sessions, agency staff are available on an as-needed basis to intervene in crisis situations that require expertise in dealing with emergencies involving children and adolescents. In expanding its role as a helping agency, The Lincoln Center stands prepared to provide appropriate assistance in the aftermath of tragic circumstances that may affect the students and families of your school district.

CRT: Immediate On-site Intervention Support
The TLC Crisis Response Team’s mission is to assist schools and other organizations in addressing emotional responses to traumatic events, such as acts of violence, student suicides, fatal auto accidents, or other serious incidents affecting students and staff.

In the aftermath of a crisis, the TLC Crisis Response Team is available to assist in the implementation of the district’s emergency response plan.

The CRT is composed of a Team Leader and 2 to 5 crisis counselors, depending on the nature of the situation. With a network of counselors assigned to schools throughout Montgomery and Chester Counties, TLC can be on site within a short period after notification.
